The rather warm and wet end of winter was followed by a cold, rainy spring, leading to a difficult flowering period, and the berries were already scarce.<\/p>\n
The rains continued until the beginning of summer (250 mm in spring), forcing us into an unrelenting battle against mildew.
However, they also helped build up good water reserves to sustain the vines through the summer.<\/p>\n
Summer eventually settled in, bringing hot and dry conditions, apart from a hailstorm on July, 12th that unfortunately affected two beautiful vineyard plots.<\/p>\n
Harvest began on September, 4th, the latest start in the past 10 years. Picking proceeded calmly, largely in cool conditions and under the mistral wind.
The Grenache grapes, more sensitive to downy mildew, were scarce but deeply colored. The Syrah and Mourv\u00e8dre varieties, better suited to wet vintages, were beautiful.
The harvest was small, and we decided not to produce 2024 Vieilles Vignes cuv\u00e9e, instead blending those wines into the classic cuv\u00e9e.<\/p>\n
These cooler vintages produce wines with a different profile: they are precise, focused, and long on the palate. Aging has revealed aromas of blackberry, orange zest, and rosemary, with a peppery finish.<\/p>\n
For both white and red wines, the balance is excellent, with beautiful phenolic ripeness. Acidity levels are higher than usual, resulting in very good pH levels, a hallmark of quality, stability, and aging potential.<\/p>\n
The reds are highly aromatic, with deeper-than-average color intensity and fine, elegant tannins.<\/p>\n
