Presentation

  • Winemaking: Our white Châteauneuf-du-Pape mainly comes from two plots: 0.50 ha of Roussanne in the Les Esqueirons locality, planted in 1987. This plot is on the west-facing slope of the village hill. 0.35 ha of Bourboulenc in the locality of Les Bousquets, also on the west-facing slope of the village hill. In 2020, a third plot of Clairette (approx. 20 ares) will enter production. We also have a vine Clairette vines and old Grenache Blanc vines scattered in other plots; and which, in some years, contribute to the blend. The grapes are hand picked, in 50 kg crates, with great care being taken not to squash the grapes.
The bunches are pressed, and the must is placed in stainless-steel vats. Débourbage is performed : this consists of removing the solid debris of the pulp, soil particles, etc). Finally, alcoholic fermentation can begin, with the temperature kept around 17°C. When this is over, we rack off the coarse lees and the wine is matured on fine lees in stainless-steel vats and demi-muids. Our white wines do not undergo malolactic fermentation. And they are bottled about seven months later.
  • Cultivation method: Organic (ECOCERT certified)
  • Grapes: 69% Roussanne, 29% Bourboulence, 2% Clairette and Grenache Blanc.
  • Terroir: Clay, colluvium, Cretaceous limestone of the Barremian age.
